Specialised translation for the luxury, beauty and cosmetics industries

100% Human translation by specialised, professional, native translators

A product sales pitch, a launch book, a corporate brochure for a jewellery house and a product sheet for a high-end skincare cream… These may seem like worlds apart in terms of content, yet they share one common requirement: the translated version must be just as accurate and polished as the original.

The difference specialisation makes

We often hear that a good translator can translate anything. But that’s not actually true. A non-specialised translator will deliver a competent translation, but they won’t necessarily know that in perfumery we refer to ‘jus’ rather than ‘liquid’, or that a ‘serum’ is not the same as an ‘essence’.

Our translators have been working in the luxury and beauty industries for many years. They know how to adjust their tone depending on whether the content is aimed at consumers, professional buyers or certification bodies. The result is copy that does not read like a translation, but like content originally drafted for the target market.

We work with all European and Asian languages, as well as Arabic. Our translators are native speakers who specialise exclusively in the luxury and cosmetics sectors to ensure consistent quality regardless of the language pair.

How we work

Fully human specialised translation requires a linguist who has an in-depth understanding of your sector, including its conventions and writing styles. At OuiTranslate, every project follows the same process.

Assessment and preparation

Your dedicated project manager reviews the brief, identifies the native translator(s) best suited to your content and provides them with your glossaries, references, and style guides.

Translation by a native translator

Your text is then entrusted to a specialised native translator. Our translators have an in-depth understanding of your industry and draw on your brand guidelines to ensure that the translated copy stays true to your brand’s identity.

Dual review and delivery

A second linguist checks terminological consistency, style and accuracy, before the text undergoes one final review prior to delivery. For a multi-market launch, we coordinate teams and timelines to ensure a synchronised rollout—and, if necessary, approval from your local subsidiaries.

“OuiTranslate has always stood out for its professionalism and responsiveness. Their understanding of the nuances of our industry is reflected in the exceptional quality of their translations.”

Specialised cosmetics translation: Translating 2,530 words into 38 languages for Sisley Digital

Étude de cas

Sisley’s Digital Department regularly submits its product launch matrix (Makeup, Hair, Skincare) to OuiTranslate. This takes the form of a structured Excel file to be translated from French into 38 languages, with English as the reference language. The project must be delivered within six business days and include quality control and local proofreading.

The complexity of this project stems from its technical constraints. The file contains HTML tags that must remain intact, strict character limits for each category (description, short description, introduction text, application), and one tab per market (language). To meet these requirements, OuiTranslate has implemented a two-step process on Phrase TMS: first, specialised translators assigned to the brand translate the text, working with detailed client instructions. Once they have finished, Sisley’s proofreaders at the various subsidiaries automatically receive a notification inviting them to review the translation as part of a separate step in the process.

Our translation service includes a full quality control process — checking HTML tags, character limits, and terminological consistency — before the document is returned via Google Sheet Drive, with the progress status indicated through a colour-coded system for each market.
